I'm an artist living and working on the Inishowen peninsula in Donegal. My creative journey began in textile design at the National College of Art and Design, and expanded into mixed media during my MA in Visual Art Practices at IADT. That experience encouraged a more intuitive, process-led approach that continues to shape my practice today.
My work blends painting, illustration, and collage — primarily in two-dimensional form. I use hand-painted papers and found materials to build layered compositions that explore memory, place, and the emotional pull of landscape. After 25 years in Dublin, I've returned to a consistent studio practice in Donegal, where the natural surroundings and spaciousness have renewed my creative direction.
Much of my work is small in scale — partly shaped by years of working within domestic settings. These physical constraints have become part of the work's language, lending it intimacy, stillness, and quiet reflection. I'm drawn to abstraction, light, and texture, often creating pieces that invite the viewer to pause, step in, and consider what's present just beneath the surface.
